Project Overview:
A personal exploration into high-end residential architecture within a desert environment. This villa is designed to harmonize minimalist, monolithic forms with biophilic elements, reflecting the premium real estate standards of the Dubai market.
Phase 1: Massing & Volumetric Study
The project began with a focus on spatial logic and proportions. This initial "clay" stage allowed for a precise study of natural light interaction and the rhythmic shadow patterns created by the building's geometry during the "Golden Hour."
Phase 2: Architectural Refinement & Site Envelope
Moving into secondary forms, the building’s functional elements were established:
Glazing System: Implementation of slim-profile window frames to maximize transparency.
Modern Mashrabiya: Integration of vertical timber slat panels for texture contrast and solar shading.
Hardscape Mechanics: Finalizing the pool’s "infinity edge" geometry and the exterior cantilevered staircase.
Phase 3: Materiality & Scale Calibration
Integration of high-fidelity PBR materials and environmental context:
Primary Facade: Applied premium Travertine cladding with specific horizontal grain alignment to emphasize the building's elongation.
Material Contrast: Developed dark timber shaders for the recessed areas to provide visual depth.
Pool Dynamics: Configured water shaders with volumetric absorption to achieve the characteristic deep turquoise tint of luxury pools.
Phase 4: Landscaping & Atmospheric Finalization (Complete)
The final stage focused on bringing the scene to life through advanced scattering and post-production:
Biophilic Design: Heavy vegetation scattering (palms, succulents, desert flora) using Corona Scatter to optimize VRAM usage while maintaining lush density.
Lifestyle Integration: Seamless insertion of 3D scanned people and props to define the scale and usage scenarios.
AI Enhancement: The final 4K render was processed through a custom Flux.1 AI workflow to refine micro-details (water turbulence, skin textures, foliage translucency) and merge the 3D output with the photographic backplate.
Technical Stack:
Modeling: 3ds Max / Maya
Rendering: Corona Renderer 14 (Native PBR)
Environment: Corona Scatter / Chaos Cosmos
Post-Production: Adobe Photoshop + ComfyUI (Flux.1 Local Pipeline)
