Перемещение по рельефу

Подскажите, пожалуйста, как лучше настроить перемещение объекта по рельефной местности? Можно, конечно, в качестве траектории задать сплайн, но очень трудно подогнать его под неровную поверхность так, чтобы модель, которая будет двигаться, не "проваливалась" через рельеф.

А как проследить в таком случае провалы модели в поверхность?
И что такое shape merge? *8)
