1. Run the setup.exe for Mental ray 2.1.38.5 first and choose a standard
installation.
2. Don't worry about any licensing with SPM, Mental Ray is already cracked when
installed.
3. Now run the setup.exe for the 3D Studio MAX® Connection to mental ray,
and point it to the relevant directories when asked. (NOTE: it should
find your MR 2.1.38.5 from step 1 directory automatically.
4. Thats it as far as installation is concerned.
5. REBOOT!!!
6. Start 3D Studio Max and load one of the supplied sample scenes.
7. Press Render, and behold.
