Maya 7.0.1 release notes
Security update
The Alias security tools have been updated in this release to version 10.8.0.1 or 10.8.0.2, depending on your platform.If you are licensing Maya via a floating license server, we strongly encourage you to update your licensing software. The security tools for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X are included with the software. The security tools for all Alias supported
platforms are available at:

Additionally, this update fixes an issue where the security tools released with Maya 7.0 did not properly handle 64-bit systems using USB hardware locks (dongles) when running on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. The dongle driver installers for this release have been updated to resolve this problem. Removal of DwgTranslator
The DwgTranslator plug-in is no longer distributed with this release. This plug-in provided import and export of DXF and DWG files.DXF files have been associated with the FBX plug-in by default. The FBX plug-in can import and export AutoCAD Drawing Exchange Format Version 13 (.DXF). Please visit our Conductor partners' page on our web site for other options for

New FBX functionality: Import/Export DXF
The following options appear when the FBX plug-in is loaded.
Export Option:
• Export Deformed Models – when this option is active, the effect of
deformation is taken into account in the resulting mesh.

Import Options:
• Weld vertices – vertices with same coordinates are considered to be the same vertex.
• Create objects from:
• Layer: When this option is selected, a single object (mesh) is created for every layer found in the DXF file.
• Entity: When this option is selected, a single object (mesh) is created for every entity found in the DXF file.
• Block: When this option is selected, a single object (mesh) is created for every block found in the DXF file.
