I've seen a few youtubers doing this, but right now I'm watching videos with inverted normals on their hair, and after the blocking stage, they're demeshing with Zremescher. I'm just curious why, if you're going to rebuild anyway, or maybe retopologize at the end. Does it somehow improve the sculpting process?

If the answer is something like "you always want to work with the cleanest possible topology", could you explain why? The only thing I've come up with so far is that in the end it makes it easier to clean up, but at the same time the main ways I've seen retopology are all-or-nothing changes rather than keeping the previous topology.
