Ustanovil Renderman pod Linux. Kogda probuyu zapustiti lmgrd:

$ ./lmgrd -c license.dat

I gloxnet. Prograssiroval s strace, pixard krome "/" i "/dev/null"a
nicego ne probuet otkrivati. Kak ukazati pixardu gde lock file?

prman-3.9.2-r1.i386.rpm

Iz paketa prman-3.9.2-r1.i386.rpm visel "pixard" kotoriy ustanovilsea v /opt/pixar/prman-3.9.2/etc. Etot pixard vobsche ne zapuskayetsea, "Segmentation fault" daet. Na viseukazanom ftp tak-je esti fail
linux.tar.gz. Iz nego visel drugoy "pixard". Tak vot etot pixard jaluetsea cto "Cannot open daemon lock file".
Zaranee blagodaren.

K stati esli u kogo za odno esti i license.dat dlya linux'a mojno li kak-to podsobiti ato vindovskiy license.dat
navernoye ne budet rabotati.

Proboval i kak root i kak obicniy polzovate. Nicego ne vihodit.
U tebya kakoy Linux? Kakoy Glibc? Skaji, ya takoi je ustanovlu.

Gden nahoditsea etot "daemon lock file"? Mojesi li posmotreti u ebya.
A isco esli mojno to protrassiruy svoy lmgrd. Kakie faili on otkrivaiet?

why dont u try the cracked license for windows...?
maya for linux has the same license with maya for windows!
maybe this is the solution for installing rat at linux!

ok..

1.downloaded the rpm's.
2.Transfered my cracked license from windows partion to Linux
/opt/pixar/prman/etc.
3.Edited the license changing the path of pixard
and the name of localhost.

4.create a folder in usr/local/flexlm/licenses and copy the license.dat in the new folder u just created.

5. from a shell go to /opt/pixar/prman/etc
and write
./lmgrd -c

6. then write : ./startlm.sh
7. if u execute ./lmstat u will see that
Pixard Daemon , server daemon UP!:))))

8. The job is finished.
9. Create enviroment paths is .chscmd according to what the documents of Linux installation of Rat 4.5 say
10.Load Maya, load plugins!:)))
