Maya has better and more accessible online rigs because it is the most used animation tool. Autoriggers are better too. There are also many more addons and MEL scripts. So yes, Maya is better (and even vanilla Maya is too). I felt the same way when I switched from Blender to ZBrush when I switched from Blender to Maya for animation. If you are just making very short animations to show off your sculptures, it may not be worth learning and finding resources, but if you want to create higher quality animations and rigs in less time, Maya is a good idea. You can also try Cascadeur if you are not animating faces. It has an AI-powered physics engine that fills in empty keyframes.
