16-17 мая в гамбурге прошел Realsoft3D Beta Meeting. На котором разработчики вперыве показали один из первых вариантов пятой версии RS3D ( выход запланирован на ноябрь этого года) Ниже привожу список основных новых возможностей, которые будут реализованы в V5 • Camera: support for different lens types, like fish eye; • Ability to measure an object’s size by drawing a 2 point line; • Some extra information, like (selected) point counts, (selected) object counts to be shown in the status bar; • Frame rate calculations: average, total; • Improved render progress information: show what is being processed, write status to logfile; • Hierarchical choreography structures; also ability to load / save these for non-linear editing; • P4 optimising; other optimizations are possible (recompilation under Intel's C compiler instad of MS Visual C); • VSL break points; • More and some new ‘kick ass’ shaders; • Grids: Scalable grids, that when you zoom in, you get automatically the appropriate grid related to the amount of zoom. Also grids per level (which can be different to each level) or even grid as an attribute for an object: click (or drag-drop object and get the appropriate grid); grids then should also be visible in the hierarchy window; • Shaded skeletons, instead of wireframe; • Thumbnails for all types of files; • Renderboxes: 3D version of a renderbox that is also animatable (if related object moves, the renderbox also moves along); renderbox should be visible as an object in the view window. 2D renderbox improvements, like easy positioning and ability to move when selected objects move; • New icons; • Support for graphic tablets and pens; • Sticky notes function, so you can add comments to your projects, VSL, scenes, hierarchy and so on; • Lightsource: the ability to limit the effect of the lightsources to selected objects, meaning that only these selected objects are lit by a given light source; • Macro recorder-player functionality: for testing, tutorials and any other thinkable application of this function. It should be able to record / play back any user action; • Simulation tools: the ability to preview and parameterize a simulation and then import it into a scene; • HDRI format support; • GUI support for tools like GTK plus, so that user interfaces can be designed and loaded like skins; • Primitives, like cube and cylinder with rounded edges; compound tools, like V3 had; • Switch on/off icons and/or text; • Tooltips to show keyboard shortcuts; • OGL improvement: show reflections, transparency, correct Boolean representation; • Lip synch tool with audio play back; • Realtime animation playback.
