Layer Support
Rhino layers are supported, but the mapping isn't straightforward. Rhino has named layers, but PS-Exchange requires numbered layers. Internally, we map these names to numbers, which has the effect of keeping all the data correctly separated.

Therefore PS-Exchange is developed and supported on:

Windows NT4 until the end of April 2003
Windows 2000 until the end of March 2005
Windows XP until the end of December 2006
PS-Exchange may work on other operating systems and on the noted ones after the date given, but no testing and/or bug-fixing is or will be carried out by Delcam.
NB.
PS-Exchange is not supported on Windows 95, 98, or ME !!!

PS-Exchange can read and write a number of different file formats. These include the international standard formats, such as IGES and STEP, and proprietary formats, such as Delcam's DGK format and CATIA fic files.

Not only can PS-Exchange translate between these different formats, but it also allows you to control the translation process so as to ensure you obtain the maximum amount of information possible. For example, different formats may handle trimmed surface data in different ways, PS-Exchange can understand several of these schemes and you can select which is the best for your data.

As well as straight file format conversions, if you use PS-Exchange's graphical interface you can select which entities from the input file will be translated into the output file. This can be useful, for example, if you are only interested in a small component which has been sent to you in a single file with the rest of a larger assembly.
