At this point, we would like to announce our retirement as a group.
For over a year we have dutifully served you with the software you
love in the fields of graphics, video, and animation. The time has
come for us to step down, reflect on our time in this so called
scene, and move on.
We set out in October of 2000 to provide full-featured evaluations
of expensive software packages with a certain degree of class and
quality that is hard to come by these days. Our message has not
fallen on deaf ears. Members of the upper echelon of the graphics
industry are understanding our purpose and embracing the work that
we do. Alias|Wavefront has taken a major step in the right direction
with their introduction of the free Maya Personal Learning Edition,
and we commend them. By promoting their product to students, they
gain a competitive edge by filling the job market with Maya experts.
With any luck, this idea will catch on and the educational needs of
earnest computer lovers will be met without the assistance of groups
like Trinity. If not, we can only hope that another ambitious group
of professionals will come along to carry the torch, continue our
work, and spread the message.
We would like to thank our supporters and colleagues. Your help,
cooperation, and supportive e-mails were greatly appreciated.
As a group, we had a great run, but it is time to retire. Keep
learning and supporting quality software developers.
